Disclaimer
Horticultural information only
BogTraps provides general information about growing carnivorous plants, drawn from published sources. Results depend on your climate, water, light and plants, and following a page does not guarantee a result.
Not legal advice
Some pages mention laws and regulations, such as protections for wild Venus flytraps in North Carolina, US Endangered Species Act listings and international trade rules. These are stated as facts with their official sources, not as legal advice. Laws change and differ by place; contact the relevant agency before collecting, moving or trading protected plants. We never recommend taking plants or seed from the wild.
Pesticides and other products
Where a page mentions a pesticide or other product, it does so because a cited source discusses it. Always read and follow the product label, which is the legal requirement for its use, and note that carnivorous plants can be more sensitive than typical houseplants.
Pets and children
We do not publish toxicity information for carnivorous plants unless a recognised source covers it. If a pet or child eats part of a plant, contact a veterinarian, a poison control center or a doctor.
